Recently colleges have been denying students admission because of the decisions they've made on social media. Colleges have the power to check the twitter account of a student that has applied to that particular college. This is happening to more and more students every year. 31 percent of colleges say they have visited an applicants social media page.
I feel like this is a good thing. It teaches kids the power that their tweets have, and is preparing them for the real world. Because when someone applies for a job, it is more than likely that the company will be doing a background check on them. People need to watch what they post on social media because it has the power to change their future.
